Would box holders please leave their boxes at the back of church in the library area over the next 2 weeks and I will empty them. Many thanks for your generosity. If anyone would wish to become a red box holder, there are some spare boxes available. Pentecost Sunday on the 8 June: at our 9am Mass we will celebrate the cultural diversity of our community. Please bring with you an A4 flag of your country and some food to share after Mass. Prayers will be offered in various languages at the Mass.
Saturday 14th June, in St. Aelred’s church hall, Woodlands Drive Harrogate HG27BE Speaker is Fr. Chris Angel. The talk will be, “The Blessings of a Pope.” 12 Noon to 3.45pm
Fishy Luncheon Monday 9th June. All welcome to come and enjoy fish &chips, mushy peas, coffee/tea, bread & butter and afters, as well as some good chat. Hall opens 12 noon, luncheon served 12.30pm. £6.00 monies to be paid to Tony or Margaret. Please put your names on the list at the back of St Aelreds church or phone Tony on 07912790773.
St Aelred’s church flower team would gratefully accept flowers from your garden or bought flowers to be used to decorate the church. Please leave donations at the back of church in the bucket marked Flowers.
Saturday 28th June in St Aelred’s Hall. 10am-3.30pm. A day retreat in the Celtic tradition. Christ asks us not to lock Him away inside the walls of the church, but to follow Him and wash the feet of the world. Andy and Anna Raine of the Northumbrian Community on Lindisfarne will lead the day of prayer, music and scripture. Please bring something for a Shared Table lunch. All most welcome!
Friendship Groups: St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome. St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome.
St Aelred’s Finance Advisory Group will meet on Thursday 5th June at 7pm in the presbytery.
St Aelred’s Social Committee: will meet on Wednesday 4th June at 7pm in the Parish Hall. All most welcome.
Following the Bishop’s recent Pastoral letter, this is a reminder that any man who is even remotely thinking about a vocation to the priesthood is invited to meet with Bishop Marcus and the Vocations Promotion Team. Hinsley Hall, Pentecost Sunday, 8 June, 2pm lasting about an hour, including prayers/talks/Q&A. Under 18s must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
