CAFOD’s local partners worked with Waré’s community to build an underground water tank that now provides safe water for 300 families. American Style Ceilidh - Saturday 18th October 7.30pm in St Aelred’s Hall. The next in our popular twice-yearly series. Come and dance to a top class live band. Sociable and fun. No previous dance experience needed - our expert dance caller will explain everything. This event is open to the public - bring your friends from outside the parish. Tickets £12 / £6 on the door. Tea, coffee & cake in the interval. No licensed bar but you can bring your own drinks if you wish. For more information see Philip Rowe (Sunday organist 9am).
The group will be for men of the parish to come together socially and support one another. The group will meet once a season (4 times a year), and there is no cost. If you’re interested, please contact aidan.gillespie@hotmail.com
Calling all bakers we invite you to share your talents. Next weekend October 4th/5th we are having a “Bake and Take” stall after each mass at St Aelred’s. Please bake/bring something to donate and the parish can share and enjoy.
Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.
