Pentecost Sunday on the 8 June: at our 9am Mass we will celebrate the cultural diversity of our community. Please bring with you an A4 flag of your country and some food to share after Mass. Prayers will be offered in various languages at the Mass.
St Aelreds Cake Sale 13th July in aid of window blinds for the hall. Please bring cakes for sale either Saturday 12th or on the morning, don’t forget some cash to buy cakes for tea.
St Aelred’s Christmas fayre – Thank you to all who helped to make the Christmas Fair a great success. A Total of £1514.62 was banked!
St Mary’s Bed Race Café raised an amazing £1186.85! A very big thank you to all who helped to make the event so memorable.
The Fisher Singers have a Summer Celebration concert on Monday 7th of July at 7.30pm at the Cairn Hotel. Tickets are £10, under 18s £8. Please phone 07411 258713/07958665410r tickets can be purchased on the door. Proceeds to go to Harrogate Homeless project.
Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.
St Aelred’s church flower team would gratefully accept flowers from your garden or bought flowers to be used to decorate the church. Please leave donations at the back of church in the bucket marked Flowers.
Saturday 28th June in St Aelred’s Hall. 10am-3.30pm. A day retreat in the Celtic tradition. Christ asks us not to lock Him away inside the walls of the church, but to follow Him and wash the feet of the world. Andy and Anna Raine of the Northumbrian Community on Lindisfarne will lead the day of prayer, music and scripture. Please bring something for a Shared Table lunch. All most welcome!
Youth group - new members welcome - our youth group for young people in Year 7 and above will be gathering on Sunday evenings in St Aelred's Church hall 6.30pm to 8pm. Friendship Groups: St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome. St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome.
Deacon Philip Thornley will be ordained on Saturday 28th June, 11:00am – 12:30pm at Leeds Cathedral. All are welcome to his Ordination, which will also be live streamed. Let us keep Philip in our prayers
