Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.

St Aelred’s church flower team would gratefully accept flowers from your garden or bought flowers to be used to decorate the church. Please leave donations at the back of church in the bucket marked Flowers.

Friendship Groups: St Aelred’s Friendship Group meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 1.30pm – 3.30pm all most welcome. St Mary’s Friendship Group meet Monday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm with refreshments and good cake! All most welcome.

St Mark’s way on the national jubilee pilgrimage of hope: begins on Saturday, 6th September with 8am Mass at Leeds Cathedral. Wall all or part of the way between the Cathedral and the Jubilee Pilgrimage Church of St Austin in Wakefield. See Diocesan website for details of how to sign up.

St Aelred’s Church is kept clean by a team of volunteers, working in pairs on a rota. We need at least four and, preferably more, volunteers to join the rota and share this important work. Each pair cleans the church, taking 2-3 hours about four times a year. Feast of St Bernard 12.00 noon Wednesday, 20th August . See poster on noticeboard for admission details. Bring a picnic to make it a day out for all the family after Mass.

 Mass intentions gratefully received using the brown envelopes in both churches. All Mass intentions must be made via the brown envelopes in the narthex and a cash donation placed in them or use the tab on the Dona machine. Please give at least 2 weeks’ notice to facilitate a special day.

Joint Parish outing August 14th To celebrate the life and work of Pope Francis and the 10th Anniversary of the publication of his seminal work 'Laudato Si', we will be taking a day trip to the Laudato Si centre at Wardley Hall, Salford. https://laudatosicentre.org.uk/ Coach pickup and drop-off from St Aelred's and St Mary's carparks.
