Saturday 28th June in St Aelred’s Hall. 10am-3.30pm. A day retreat in the Celtic tradition. Christ asks us not to lock Him away inside the walls of the church, but to follow Him and wash the feet of the world. Andy and Anna Raine of the Northumbrian Community on Lindisfarne will lead the day of prayer, music and scripture. Please bring something for a Shared Table lunch. All most welcome!
Performing Haydn’s ‘Creation’ at Ripon Cathedral on Saturday 23rd May, 7:30pm . Tickets are available on www.knaresboroughchoralsociety.com or on the door.
Would you like to be part of ensuring our Bed Race Café is a huge success and meet new people and support a fantastic community cause? We are looking for volunteers to donate cakes, buns and biscuits and help set up and volunteer on the day. The church will be open: (for cake drop off and set up), Friday 13th: 5:00pm – 6:30pm and Saturday 14th: 9:00am – 11:00am. We would love volunteers from both St Mary’s and St Aelred’s parishes to come together, build new friendships and create a wonderful community spirit.
A local family have asked St. Aelred's SVP if we can provide any garden furniture or outside toys. A 4 year old boy would dearly love a sandpit with a cover, or other toys to play with in the garden. If you are able to help, please call the SVP on 07311 214364. Thank you.
As we enter the academic, exam season, we want to wish all our students every blessing and every success. As you prepare and sit each exam, may you know God’s presence beside you, His wisdom within you, and His peace surrounding you.
Fishy Lunch: Monday 1st June. All are welcome to come and enjoy Fish & Chips, mushy peas, coffee/tea, bread & Butter and sweets for afters, as well as some good chat. Summer Fayre - St Aelred’s Church will be holding their summer fayre on Sunday 28th June after 9am Mass. Please come along and join in on the fun, games, food and beverages! If you have any donations for the raffle or bottle tombola then please leave at the back of Church, raffle tickets will be on sale soon. Many thanks!
Food Bank: A TIN A WEEK: Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this, also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.
Deanery day of renewal. Saturday 13th June 11.30 am to 3.45 pm in St. Aelred’s church hall. Speaker is Rev. Michelle Lepine. The title of her talk is” Repair shop -The power of Jesus to restore us.” All most welcome.
SAVE THE DATE for a big bash to celebrate the retirement of Miss Collins, our lovely headteacher. It would be great to see as many old and present families as possible to give her a good send off. Friday 26th June 5:30 - 8:30pm , come rain or shine. More details soon!
