St Aelred’s and St Mary’s church flower teams would gratefully accept flowers from your garden or bought flowers to be used to decorate the church. Please leave donations at the back of church in the bucket marked Flowers.

St Aelred’s church & grounds clean/tidy up - Sat 20.09.2025 12 Noon -3pm. All hands to the deck! A range of tasks both indoors and outdoors for all – from clearing weeds, to mopping, sweeping and polishing.

Monday 8th September. All welcome to come and enjoy fish and chips and mushy peas, coffee, tea, bread & butter and sweets for afters, as well as good chat. Hall opens 12 Noon, luncheon served 12.30pm. £6.00 monies to be paid to Tony or Margaret. Please put your names on the list at the back of St Aelreds church or phone Tony on 07912790773.

St Aelred’s late summer Fair will take place on Saturday 6th September from 2-4.30pm. We need lots of bottles – particularly wine and spirits, chocolates for the tombola, Hampers and vouchers. Please bring them to church as soon as possible and we will store them in a cool secure place. Home baking and preserves gratefully received on the day and lots of help.

Deanery Day of Renewal Saturday 13th September 11.30am to 3.45 pm in St. Aelred’s church hall. Speaker is Fr. Chris Thomas. The theme of his talk is “Human and Alive.

St Aelred’s Produce Share: If you have surplus fruit, veg, homemade jams, chutneys etc please consider sharing with the parish. There is a table at the back of the church to leave your produce. Please help yourselves to any produce, if you feel the need to make a monetary donation there is a bowl to put it in. All donations will be shared between the SVP and CAFOD. Thank you for your support.

St Mark’s way on the national jubilee pilgrimage of hope begins on Saturday, 6th September with 8am Mass at Leeds Cathedral. Wall all or part of the way between the Cathedral and the Jubilee Pilgrimage Church of St Austin in Wakefield. See Diocesan website for details of how to sign up. Our SVPs collect food for the hungry, can you spare a tin a week for this also some toiletries? These can be left in the boxes at the back of our churches. The Lord tells us to feed the hungry, so thank you all for your donations which are sincerely appreciated.
